Barnhart Balfour Beatty is working with the Sierra Sands Unified School District to complete the first phase of its $85 million construction program to upgrade facilities at each of the district’s 11 schools as well as construct improvements and seismic renovations at the Sierra Vista Education Center/Adult School.
The multi-year construction program began in mid-July 2008. Barnhart Balfour Beatty is providing general contracting/construction management services and will deliver the schools utilizing the Lease-Leaseback project delivery system. Facility improvements include upgrades to plumbing systems and restrooms, classroom building expansions, as well as expansion to multi-purpose rooms and cafeterias. Fire alarm, communication, and electrical systems will all be upgraded to comply with the latest health, ADA, safety and technology requirements. Roof replacement and repairs will be completed as needed.
Barnhart Balfour Beatty has completed work at three of the district’s 11 schools: Sierra Vista Educational Center/Adult School, Faller Elementary and Pierce Elementary.
